Getting Kids Excited About Telling Time with LED Wall Clocks

Although there are a lot of digital clocks available these days, it is still a good idea for kids to learn how to read more traditional wall clocks as well. One way to do this is to get LED wall clocks with their favorite characters on them. Of course not all of these clocks are made for young kids, there are also clocks like this made for grown ups and those that are just young at heart.

Many of the LED wall clocks that are available for sale contain licensed characters or sports teams. A lot of these clocks also put on LED light shows and play music on the hour, which kids especially will really like. There are usually on/off switches if you want to turn off the lights and music, and many are programmed so that the music and lights only go off during daylight hours so you don’t even have to do this if you don’t want to.

Clocks with special features like this can help to encourage kids to want to learn how to read them, so they can be a learning tool, as well as adding to the decor of a teenager’s or tween’s room. For adults, LED wall clocks can be useful as well. Add a clock featuring your favorite sports team to a game room or a “man town” type room. They also go well with the decor in college dorm rooms, so they would make a good gift for a kid about to go to college.

As far as prices go, LED wall clocks can be a bit more expensive than similar wall clocks without the LED features. They usually start in price around $30, and go up to more than $100, depending on the clock in question. Those for children tend to be on the lower end of the price range, with a KNG LED Musical Wall Clock featuring Cars costing about $30. Those geared toward adults tend to be more expensive, such as the Texas Hold ‘Em wall clock from R.A.M. Lighting, which costs around $68. For those willing to spend a bit more, you can get an official looking scoreboard clock for about $95 that shows the time, the date, and the temperature. It is weather resistant as well, so you could even use it outdoors.
